The wait is almost over, the weight of expectation is heavy, the wait to see wether we can progress to the semi’s is here. Now to weigh up the opposition.
Of the six playoff hopefuls, Bromley aside, the other five are ex EFL clubs.
Pools finished seven points ahead of Bromley having scored three goals more and conceded ten goals less. Pools finished third in the home table whilst Bromley finished third in the away table.
Head to head, Pools have won one, drawn one and lost five.
Arsenal’s head of goalkeeping Andy Woodman was appointed Bromley manager just recently. He has returned 28 points from the possible 39 on offer in his 13 games in charge losing just once. Since he took over, no other club has shown better form in that same period of time. His sides are defensively minded and has seen them keep six clean sheets in those 13 games. One of those against Pools who have yet to score against them this season
One to watch is Michael Cheek. Currently the league’s top scorer on 23, five of which were penalties. Keep Timi away from him and have Liddle on the case then fingers crossed. Next top scorer is Rodney Duffes on 9.
Here’s a most tip top TopCat top fact. Pools have yet to score an own goal this season.
Earlier this season, Pool’s went on a run of LLWL then started a four game winning streak starting with a 4-0 home win.
Pools are currently on a similar run of LLWL followed again by a 4-0 home win. In the last four game winning streak the second game was a 3-1 home win. And that against a side in the current top seven. Mmmm food for thought. Hence my prediction league forecast.
An away game at Stockport awaits the winner.
We are on the telly so no stream. KO has been moved to avoid a clash with the England game.
